Medela's Swing™ Breastpump wins Medical Design Excellence Award
|
Baar CITY, June 2006 - Medela’s new Swing™ Breastpump, a single electric, personal-use breastpump designed to help nursing mothers pump more milk in less time, has been honored with a 2006 Medical Design Excellence Award.
Swing’s revolutionary 2-Phase Expression® Technology was first researched and developed for hospital-grade breastpumps and has now been reconfigured in Swing’s new compact, consumer-friendly design. The small breastpump with battery option can easily be taken along and offers the mother more freedom of movement while pumping.
Swing was a winner in the Over-the-Counter and Self-Care Products category at MDEA, the only awards program devoted exclusively to recognizing advances in the design of medical products. Entries are evaluated on design and engineering features, including innovative use of materials, user-related functions that improve healthcare delivery, and changes in traditional medical attitudes or practices.
„Medela has worked hard to offer an even higher level of quality, innovation and value with Swing,“ said Beat Moser, Director of International Marketing of Medela AG. „We're honored that MDEA has recognized this achievement.“
Swing is easy to operate, with a one touch let-down button designed for faster milk flow and efficient, adjustable speed and vacuum controls. The pump comes with a single pumping accessory kit including SoftFit™ massaging breastshield, cloth carrying bag, lanyard for neck and/or shoulder use and AC adapter.
